sophie anne edwards (she/her/settler) is an environmental artist, geopoet and curator of English and French descent who lives on Mnidoo Mnising (Manitoulin Island), northeastern Ontario. A geographer (SSHRC funded, PhD/ABD, Queen’s U) she is interested in the spatial imaginary, geopoetics and the possibilities of interspecies collaboration. Her field- and installation-based practice focuses on the complexities of local ecosystems (social, cultural, historical, colonial, environmental). Her first book of poetry will be published by Talon Books in 2024 (not formally announced yet). Other work has been published by Gap Riot Press, Blasted Tree Press, The Capilano Review, Room Magazine, Arc Poetry Magazine, and forthcoming in the Hamilton Review and Canadian Notes and Queries.
