First Lift Here and Other Poems is the first poetry collection by Taidgh Lynch. Lynch’s work examines the nature of relationships by seeming to explore around them, into the spaces and objects which colour that negative space. The book was printed by hand in house by JackPine Press on Kona grey cover paper with painted paper covers, tied with ribbon. Photographs of Ireland are printed throughout the book on vellum.
Taidgh Lynch is an emerging writer who has been busily involved in literary programming both in Saskatchewan as well as in his native Ireland, and has taught Irish culture, history, and creative writing at the Killarney School of English. Lynch has had works published in numerous poetry journals, including Bare Hands Poetry, Boyne Berries, and The Poetry Bus. After completing his MFA in writing at the University of Saskatchewan Taidgh began volunteering at The Garden Patch, where he now works as a horticultural assistant. He reads poetry for the literary journal The Fiddlehead, and loves yoga, especially hot yoga in winter.
