Fog of the Outport

The design of this prose-poetry chapbook mimics the experience of traveling in and out of Francois on the south coast of Newfoundland. The project offers the creators an urgent attempt to artistically preserve the experience of journeying to Francois, an outport that is as unique as it is remote.

Materials: The covers are silkscreen prints on Somerset Satin White 250 gsm paper, printed by Meagan at Grenfell Print Shop in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Text block contains 10.5 pt Baskerville text and digital reproductions of watercolour images printed on 140 m Lynx Opaque Ultra. Each book has been carefully hand bound by Meagan and Robin in Corner Brook and St. George’s – in either a studio or a living room. Printed in a limited edition of 100.
